There are two large sirens that rotate 360° and can be heard indoors up to one mile away once they are activated. It is activated by radio and controlled by the Gallia County 911 Center.
The system is tested at noon every Saturday. On the first Saturday of the month, there will be an audible siren test. The other tests will be silent.
There are four siren tones, each with separate instructions. They are the siren whoop, the siren alert, the siren wail, and the siren attack.
